Year-Long Paid Volunteer Opportunities

Year-Long Paid Volunteer Opportunities

Brethren Volunteer Service is a full-time volunteer program that places volunteers (18+) with volunteer sites projects in the United States and some locations around the world to advocate justice, work for peace, serve human need, and care for creation. As part of BVS, volunteers share their time and talents to work at issues that are greater than themselves. Service through BVS provides the opportunity to make a positive impact in communities around the globe and the ability to gain real-world experience that develops professional and relational skills.

BVS seeks volunteers that hope to make a difference in the world while gaining practical professional experience, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and experiencing personal growth.

BVS challenges volunteers to act on their commitment and values so that they may offer themselves, their time, and their talents for work that makes a positive impact in the community. Each volunteer must bring a willingness to serve – working toward peace and justice, meeting the needs of humanity, and caring for the environment require a servant heart and dedication

BVS volunteers receive room, board, medical insurance, transportation to their project, and a monthly stipend of $250-$350 plus money allocated for food. In most cases, educational loans can be deferred. Depending on the project, volunteers may live alone, with a family, or in a group situation.
