BioMed Realty | Commercial Real Estate Intern

BioMed Realty has a Commercial Real Estate internship available in its Seattle based office for students majoring in Business, Real Estate, or Construction Management.

Internship Objectives

  • The Commercial Real Estate Intern will gain exposure and work experience in all aspects of commercial real estate for the life sciences to help develop their knowledge and skill in analytics, industry terminology, negotiations, problem solving, collaboration and business development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

The Intern will be paired with the Leasing, Development, and Operations departments to achieve department-specific objectives and complete project(s) as outlined by the Intern Program Manager.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Performing data analysis work on tenant leases, real estate market trends and economic conditions impacting real estate
  • Conduct company, property and industry-specific research and summarizing research on tenants, prospects and potential growth locations
  • Shadowing members of the Seattle team on property tours, lease negotiations, meetings with consultants, clients, and prospects as well as internal meetings
  • Assist in developing and preparing marketing and presentation materials
  • Assist the Operations team in the management of building and capital project management, vendor management, and lease abstracts
  • Assist in the creation of 2026 Operating budgets
  • Assist Development Team in planning and management of Development projects including new construction and repositioning of existing assets

Job Specifications

  • Strong interest in learning more about the commercial real estate industry and market dynamics
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite including Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Real Estate, Business, or Construction Management majors preferred, but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on projects independently and contribute in a team-based environment

Schedule 

The intern is expected to be in the Seattle, WA office Monday-Friday. This is a 35 hour/week position, requiring 5 days per week in office, although individual schedule requirements may be adjusted depending on the needs of the company and the respective function.

Stipend $25.00 per hour (undergraduate)

The above represents the expected salary for this internship. In determining pay, we consider market rates for comparable interns, and may also consider location, experience, and other related factors.
