Brand (Consumer Product) Designer

A brand designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing visual assets for consumer products that are in the health and wellness niche, by conducting market research, understanding brand culture and user needs, creating prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the final product design and package design meets market demands and delivers a positive user experience as well as stimulates impulse purchase.

Key responsibilities:

Market research and analysis:

Conduct in-depth market research to identify consumer needs, pain points, and emerging trends to inform product design decisions. 

 

Concept development:

Generate creative concepts based on research findings, considering aesthetics, functionality, and brand identity. 

 

Prototyping and design iteration:

Create prototypes and mockups to test and refine design ideas, incorporating user feedback throughout the process. 

 

User experience design:

Ensure the product is user-friendly by considering usability and interaction design principles. 

 

Visual design:

Develop visual elements including product aesthetics, color palettes, and materials to align with brand guidelines. 

 

Collaboration with cross-functional teams:

Work closely with engineers, product managers, marketing teams, and manufacturing to translate design concepts into production-ready products. 

 

Technical specifications:

Define product specifications including materials, dimensions, and manufacturing constraints. 

 

Competitive analysis:

Monitor competitor products to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation. 

 

Testing and refinement:

Conduct user testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs to improve product performance and user satisfaction. 

 

Presentation and communication:

Effectively communicate design ideas and rationale to stakeholders through presentations and design documentation. 

 

Required skills:

  • Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe InDesign, Figma, Google Workspace, Keynote, etc;
  • Strong design skills including sketching, 3D modeling, and visual design;
  • User-centered design methodologies and research techniques;
  • Understanding of product development processes and manufacturing capabilities;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Analytical thinking and ability to interpret data;
  • Knowledge of relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, CAD programs);
  • Awareness of current market trends and consumer behavior.
