Pool Manager Requirements and Qualifications
* This is a seasonal position March - September
* At least 18+ to apply
* A High School Diploma or equivalent
*4+ years of lifeguarding experience with at least 2 years in supervisory roles preferred
*Current CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification
* 35+ Hour Work Week
Starting pay $16-$20hr based on experience
Smoketree Pool has an immediate opening for a Pool Manager for our 2025 pool season.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pool and its staff.
Other responsibilities include being on and off stand, managing budgets and employee schedules, delegating tasks to staff, and training new workforce members. There are also instances where they must produce progress reports, liaise with vendors or suppliers, and address issues and concerns, resolving them promptly and efficiently. Furthermore, a pool manager must monitor the progress of all operations, enforcing the company's safety policies and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Pool Manager Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility is to ensure a high level of performance from Assistant Manager, Head Guards and lifeguards; that means parts of their shift will be spent “out of rotation” to observe/evaluate, develop to-do list and assign tasks, take stock of inventory/chemicals, etc.…
Will work at least one full rotation with all staff during high occupancy of pool
Monitors pool water, deck and equipment
Ensures consistency of rules enforcement across staff
*Hire/Train Lifeguards in conjunction with Staff Relations Chair
*Pre-Season New Guard Training
*Responsible for ongoing training/supervision of Assistant Manager, Head Guard, Guards
*Make and manage Lifeguards schedule
*Manage Guard Payroll with Staff Relations Chair (Get W4, I9, etc.; Set pay rate; turn in hours)
*Develop Emergency Action Plan with Staff Relations Chair
*Train Staff to be Rescue Ready with Staff Relations Chair
*Responsible for formal/informal observations; running drills (red ball, etc.); Evaluations
*Weekly meetings with Staff Relations VP (reports back to AQC)
*Weekly Meetings with Assistant Manager
*Be constructive in discipline, helpful in criticism, and enthusiastic in compliments.
*Develop inclement weather policy; communicate closings or delays with ALL Staff and Pool Secretary
*Coordinate with pool management company: working knowledge of pool pumps, chemical feeders, etc.
*Maintain proper supplies for pool chemicals etc. and get them ordered at least 2 weeks in advance.
*Inspect facilities for repairs and maintenance, bathrooms, front desk, etc.
*Direct cleaning and overseeing the maintenance of the pool water, pool deck, pool equipment, front gate, pool chairs, diving boards, bathrooms, guard room and parking lot
*Help to Oversee member check in when they enter the pool and charge for all guests and lessons.
*Maintain and keep all necessary records concerning pool attendance, (Members & Guests) pool chemicals, accident reports, schedules, timecards, etc.
*Engage Members to ensure best Member Experience possible
Perform other duties as prescribed by Staff Relations.
