Green hydrogen plays an essential role towards our net-zero mission. Hydrogen has widespread industrial and transport applications.  Conventional hydrogen production from fossil fuels is accompanied by the release of large quantities of carbon dioxide. Our innovative technologies use renewable energy and water to produce green hydrogen with zero emission.  We aspire to improve efficiency, reduce the cost, and scale the manufacturing to meet the booming green hydrogen market.     

 

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Co-op to join our newly launched H2 Center of Excellence (COE) in Burlington, MA. You will engage and contribute to cutting edge technology which will be integral in a greener world. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the polymer team on membrane synthesis, processing, and durability projects.
  • Perform characterization of organic small molecules, polymers, and membranes (NMR, FTIR, GPC, tensile testing, EIS, ISE, etc.).
  • Interact with MEA engineers to optimize membrane performance. 
  • Learn and understand organic, polymer, and analytical chemistry techniques.

 

Qualifications:

  • Recently graduated or currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with organic and analytical chemistry, lab course or research experience welcome.
  • Experience with NMR, FTIR, DSC, GPC, tensile testing preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Understanding organic chemistry reactions and techniques is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm towards chemistry and green energy technology.
