This position will currently be eligible for telework three days a week but is subject to change based on Water Boards policies and operational needs.

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Information Management and Analysis has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP). The position is located at 1001 I Street, 19th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814, right in the heart of Downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Duties:

This position would serve as the lead staff for the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program for managing the transition to a new data system for storing SWAMP water quality monitoring data. Primary roles include testing the new data system to ensure it meets all program requirements, training data submitters on using the new system, assisting with development of electronic field data forms and coordinating with the existing data systems for SWAMP and California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN). This position will also work on SWAMP quality assurance and data management tasks that support water quality monitoring efforts across the State of California.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Salary: $4,269.00 - $8,877.00 per Month
