Shift Technician
Purpose of the Position:
The primary focus of the shift technician would be to support the cleaning and packaging manufacturing processes, activities and drive process control and improve operational excellence in the areas that support the process. This position will assist the team leaders and operators in this area. This position will provide the shift with a critical link to the cleaning and packaging operations team, the technical team, maintenance team, and quality team. In this role, you will provide manufacturing support for the manufacturing process and manage cost reduction, controls improvement and capacity projects. The shift will manage manufacturing processes and projects (cost reduction, repair and maintenance reduction, etc.).
Key Tasks:
- Participate with safety incidents and employee feedback.
- Compile shift/production reports.
- Select and OEE Performance.
- Downtime reconciliation.
- OEE runs Distribution.
- Safety and Housekeeping objectives, 5S compliance.
- Job Change Effectiveness
- Process Control/Process Discipline Strategy – SOS, SOP across the plant
- Compliance to Quality specification and limit Samples
- Compliance with work rules.
- Provide information for Pre-Run and Post Run Reviews with Line technicians, Batch Section Supervisor, and engineers.
- Employee Training and Certification
- Participate with and support all engineering activities directly effecting manufacturing improvements.
- Production support for any throughput or safety items that may be hindering output.
- Resolution to ongoing chronic issues that require process monitoring and data analysis to implement robust controls solutions.
- Manage multiple projects utilizing sound engineering principles to drive completion.
- Works closely with development groups to support new product development.
- Provide detailed documentation at the completion of projects.
Work Hours:
- Identify what the set schedule will be for the technicians.
Education & Experience:
- 2 year degree.
- 2+ years manufacturing experience working with and troubleshooting process equipment.
- Experienced in electrical system troubleshooting including low and medium voltage systems, PLCs, temperature controls safety systems, etc.
- Experience with mechanical system troubleshooting including pneumatic controls, flow control, material handling, etc.)
Desired Skills:
- 2 year Electrical, Electrical Technician, or other Technical Degree preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of induction furnace heating and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC Control systems: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens or similar systems.
- Computer and data collection skills. Uses data and systematic approach to solve problems and make decisions.

- Complies with all policies and procedures of the plant.
- Works well with other disciplines (IT, mechanical, and process engineering) to fully understand manufacturing system functionality and design requirements.
