Ranch Intern
The Hiram House Double H Ranch is in search of interns to join our 2025 summer staff. Hiram House Camp is a non-profit summer camp and outdoor education center located in Moreland Hills, Ohio.
At the Double H Ranch, we run a year-round, western based, lesson program in which the ranch staff are responsible for all equestrian related activities for our summer camps. We have a wide variety of horses and students which allows us the chance to offer educational advantages to interns across a multitude of equine educational tracks.
The intern position offers the opportunity to gain much more than horse care related experience. you will also have the chance to be a part of the inner workings of our lesson and camp programs.
This includes (but not limited to):
- Lesson planning and execution
- Staff selection and management
- Horse selection and purchase process
- Volunteer recruiting
- Planning and executing lesson horse training programs
- Facility and pasture management
- Program fundraising and budgeting
- Client relations
- Program Scheduling
- Task prioritization and management
This position offers dorm style housing, meals (while overnight camp is in session), and a bi-weekly stipend. To properly prepare our interns for the working demands of an equine related business this position is 6 days a week (will include holidays and some weekends) with varying hours and emergency on-call preparedness is required. Interns will also participate in some evening summer camp activities, including our day camp overnight.
