Guest Services (Part-Time)  

Job Summary:  
Guest Service staff at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History create a welcoming and warm first impression for all visitors. Guest Services are crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the Museum and the grand opening of the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater. They create an exceptional experience for visitors by answering any questions or concerns and providing information about any film featured at the Omni Theater or traveling and permanent Museum exhibits.  

Basic Function and Responsibilities including but not limited to:  

Museum Floor Staff: 

  • Rotate into the galleries and exhibits during shifts, ensuring that the assigned gallery is being properly maintained as needed. 
  • Provide visitors with assistance and information about any events or programs, as well as answer any questions visitors may have.  
  • Greet and guide field trip groups 

Theater Ushers: 

  • Provide information on pricing, film showtimes, and any special events or Museum questions.  
  • Greet and organize our field trip groups at the Omni Theater  
  • Assist visitors in seating arrangements, ensuring they are comfortable.  
  • Monitor theater audiences, minimizing any disruptions for visitors.  
  • Assist with cleaning the Omni Theater in between showtimes 

Concessions and Cashiers:  

  • Provide information on pricing, film showtimes, and any special events or Museum questions.  
  • Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently. 
  • Stock and maintain the concession area, ensuring it is well-organized and clean. 
  • Help with preparing and handling snacks and drinks while following safety guidelines. 
  • Consistently wipe down and sanitize high-contact areas and stocking as needed. 

Qualifications:  

  • Must be 18 years of age and older. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • The ability to exercise active listening skills and positive body language through smiling, sustaining eye contact and good posture.  
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.  
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual, Spanish, a plus. 

Salary: $15/hr
