Accounting Intern

Acciona Internship Program

As part of the Acciona Internship Program, you'll be assigned specific projects and goals, carefully defined by your manager, to bring your field of study to life through hands-on experience.

Interns will work 40h a week, on site in the Chicago office.

 

 

The Accounting Intern is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to our Finance and Accounting department. This role assist in performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function including managing vendors, processing invoices on a timely basis. This role will also ensure all financial processes are carried out accurately and in compliance with financial regulations and procedures. Additionally, this role will work with the accounting team members to accomplish required tasks.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Help to reconcile bank accounts.
  • Process vendor invoices for payment in a timely basis, maintain and update vendor files, reconcile and resolve vendor statements.
  • Maintain vendors in current ERP as well as insuring W-9s and other documents are obtained and accurate for 1099s.
  • Filing payments/invoices in a timely manner for all entities.
  • Work with all departments to track invoices, help with coding information, and reconcile variances between purchase order receipts and vendor invoices.
  • Prepare simple reports for different departments when needed.
  • Assist with Concur expense reporting.
  • Support the month end close process – including account reconciliation/review, booking adjusting journal entries, and various other.

Work with accounting team members to accomplish required tasks.

  • Additional accounting duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements:

 

  • Requires an associate’s degree in accounting; bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness

 

Hourly Rate: $18 – $26 per hour (based on years of education and degree)
