Digital Hardware - Electrical Engineer

Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. As we expand, we're looking for an Electrical Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to lead the design of custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensor and communication systems.

 

This position is located in the Syracuse, NY office

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activities
  • Maintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capture
  • Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support
  • Design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices
  • Perform timing closure and create well constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and employ an efficient use of resources
  • Use scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflows

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 0-5 years related professional experience
  • Understanding of digital and analog circuits
  • Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience testing and validating analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with modern Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environment
  • Experience with Communication and Sensor systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, and RF System Design
  • Experience with Matlab, Python, Linux
