Swim Instructor

Legacy Swim Academy is always looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to be trained and work as swim instructors, deck attendants and coaches at one of our two locations in Coronado and Carlsbad. Great part time positions available for high school, college students or recent graduates. Engage in meaningful interactions and help influence the safety and well being of children in the greater San Diego community!

Hours are typically set in 3-4 hour shifts in the afternoon. Coronado location hours: 2:15-6:30 pm M-F and Saturday mornings from 8:45-12. Carlsbad location hours: 315-630 Sat, Sun, and Mon. We are typically looking for someone to commit to Part Time employment, minimum of 3 days per week for the following seasons:

Spring Season (beginning March-mid June)

Summer Season (mid June-mid August)

Fall Season (mid August-mid November)

Winter Season (December-February – off for two weeks for holidays)

An ideal candidate for this position is someone with swimming experience who has high energy but is patient. Applicants should be reliable and responsible when working with children and genuinely enjoy aquatic activities! Our program runs group lessons in an outdoor pool that is heated to 86 degrees. We host Parent/Child, Learn To Swim, Developmental and Advanced Technique lessons.

A minimum of 15 hours of in-water training are expected to be completed upon hiring before instructing classes independently. Instructors must be CPR certified or willing to obtain certification or renewal within 30 days of hire. All applicants must agree to and pass a background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Hourly Wage: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
