
Entry Level Engineer
Position Summary:
Researches, analyzes, designs, and tests parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products. Develops and recommends solutions to well-defined engineering requirements or for components or segments of a complex product or system to ensure that design objectives are met. Applies engineering principles based on assigned engineering domains (e.g., mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc.).

Primarily internal Parker contacts and with cross-functional teams; occasional customer interface.
Essential Functions:
- Product Specification Development: Analyze performance and customer requirements to develop comprehensive product specifications. Investigate key design factors, including functionality, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, operational efficiency, and contractual obligations.
- Feasibility and Trade Studies: Conduct feasibility analyses and trade studies utilizing standard analytical methods. Recommend well-defined solutions and oversee their review and implementation.
- Test Result Interpretation: Interpret and validate test results to ensure accuracy and precision. Ensure compliance with product qualification procedures and parameters, achieving customer and product reliability and safety standards. Utilize predictive models to simulate and verify design concepts as necessary.
- Technical Information Provision: Provide technical information for collaboration with product engineering teams, adhering to established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods (e.g., structured design processes, customer design reviews). Prepare supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports, and assist in drafting technical proposals for customers.
- Project Milestone Contribution: Contribute to the achievement of project milestones by creating functional diagrams and system layouts, reviewing detailed drawings and schematics, defining data structures, interfaces, and programming logic, analyzing material requirements, and researching customer data item requirements.
- Product Specification Review: Review product specifications for clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and compliance with standards and procedures. Identify design errors, omissions, and deficiencies, and recommend revisions, engineering change orders, and improvements to engineering management or project teams.
- Professional Development: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and participating in professional associations.
- Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship: Share specialized knowledge with colleagues and assist in mentoring new employees. As needed, represent the company on specific projects or engineering tasks.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree (BS) in an engineering or scientific technical discipline, or a Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Experience: While 2-3 years of related experience is typically preferred, recent graduates with relevant internships or co-op experience are encouraged to apply, as we value fresh perspectives.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of engineering principles and techniques, product functionality, and industry practices, along with familiarity with relevant regulations and policies. A general knowledge of related engineering and technical fields is also beneficial.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in standard software packages, with the potential requirement for specialized software applications or programming languages. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Visual Basic is advantageous but not mandatory.
