Oxy’s Summer Intern Program runs from May to August for a full 12 weeks. As an Oxy intern, you will have the opportunity to experience real-life projects with hands-on participation in Oxy’s core businesses. Your summer project will be designed to add value to our operations while providing an opportunity to observe your skills and competencies in action. Oxy interns are paired with a manager and mentor in order to provide technical guidance throughout the project timeline. In addition to attending training and development courses, lunch and learns, field trips, and social activities, interns will be given the chance to meet with Oxy executives and leadership throughout the internship. About the Role: As an Asset Integrity Intern, you will help ensure that physical assets like pipelines, rigs, and refineries are designed, maintained, and operated safely and reliably. This role is crucial for the oil and gas industry, focusing on the long-term safety and efficiency of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Maintenance: Assist in designing and maintaining physical assets to ensure they are safe and reliable.
Risk Management: Help manage risks related to corrosion, mechanical failures, and other factors that could affect the integrity of the assets.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all assets comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Data Analysis: Analyze data to track the condition and performance of assets.
Collaboration: Work with different teams to solve problems and improve processes.

Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Maintain minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Must have a graduation date of December 2024 – May 2026
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of engineering principles and safety regulations.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify potential risks.
Communication: Strong communication skills to work effectively with different teams.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems.
