TITLE:  Assistant Resident Director for Van Antwerp Hall


 

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The Assistant Resident Director for Van Antwerp Hall will provide support to the students and staff members living in Van Antwerp. They will provide leadership to various residence life and administrative functions. 


 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be a role model for staff and students
  2. Maintain five hours of office hours per week.
  3. Provide support for the resident adviser staff, including team building and advice.
  4. Complete administrative functions to include clearing arrival reports, completing under-assigned room option forms, creating duty schedules, etc.
  5. Facilitate and create agendas for weekly staff meetings
  6. Attend routine meetings with various residence life staff.
  7. Complete building social rounds to demonstrate availability for students and staff, assess community-building efforts, and address facility concerns.
  8. Maintain quality communication and regularly consult with the resident advisers and supervisor.
  9. Assist with residence life functions, such as student leadership workshops, staff selection processes, and staff training.
  10. Assist the staff with enforcing the student code, as necessary.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Maintain a minimum of eight credit hours each semester.
  2. At least two semesters of paraprofessional residence life experience.
  3. Remain free of any type of social probation.
  4. Remain in good academic standing.


 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
  3. Ability to coordinate communication with full time staff and student staff.


 

COMPENSATION:

  1. In-kind compensation in the amount of apartment rent, to include apartment utilities, laundry fee.
  2. A meal plan that includes 100 meal swipes / X-Changes per semester and $600 in Dining
