Internship Time Commitment: 10-12 weeks, up to 10 hours/week (start and end dates to be determined with employer)
Location: Chicago Office

The United African Organization (UAO) is a dynamic coalition of African community-based organizations that promotes social and economic justice, civic participation, and empowerment of African immigrants and refugees in Illinois.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Linguistics Intern will support with interpretation and translation of client’s documents in foreign languages into English; assist with educating the community about their rights.
- The Legal Intern will assist with client intakes, conduct legal research, assist in case management, help filling out immigration forms, participate in training on various immigration matters and assist with educating the community about their rights.
- Language Preferences: French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, Wolof, African continent languages
- Each intern must meet any designated minimum requirements for the specific internship
