Social Media Monitoring Assistant (Remote) – UI Health Care Marketing & Communications
Hours: Up to 12 hours/week during school year; up to 30 hours/week during summer and breaks
Starting rate: $12 per hour
Are you interested in how brands use social media to share their messages and how they communicate directly with their audience? In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in social media strategy while learning more about health care marketing and communications.
The successful candidate will work with the social media manager for UI Health Care and others to monitor all our social media channels, communicate with the audience as needed, and share insights with key stakeholders. This is a key role on our team, as this person would be responsible for responding to questions or concerns, communicating to key stakeholders, and tracking how we’ve responded. This position has the potential to grow into a content development role for all our social media channels.
This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, initiative, and self-motivation. The successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple projects and prioritize them to meet deadlines.
Social media projects are generated through collaboration with marketing and communications colleagues to inform and educate various audiences, including patients and their families, current and prospective medical students, alumni, and more. The Social Media Assistant will work together with other members of the social media team to develop ideas for projects that align with the strategic priorities of UI Health Care’s communication and marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- Strong writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Active user of social media, specifically Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Attention to detail
- Team player
- Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a social media account for a business, organization or group.
- Experience with video editing software
- Design experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience using a DSLR camera
- Familiarity University of Iowa Health Care, which includes UI Health Care Medical Center – University Campus, UI Health Care Medical Center – Downtown Campus, UI Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, and the Carver College of Medicine.
