GIS specialist Intern
General Summary
We are currently seeking a GIS Intern to work with the Property Owners Association in updating and creating GIS data
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Basic principles of GIS database development, qualitative/quantitative analysis, and mapping
- Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources
- Perform regular quality control checks of spatial and non-spatial datasets to ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks related to GIS, database design and management, and data visualization
- Customize GIS workflow and software programs for data collection
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
- Demonstrated interest in Geographic Information Systems, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
- Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
