Events Intern

Job Description: Events Intern

 

Are you passionate about the events industry? Join us as an Events Intern and gain practical skills and hands-on experience in a fun, fast-paced, and ever-evolving field. We offer internship sessions in the fall, spring, and summer.

 

We are currently accepting applications for:

  • Summer 2025: May - July (exact dates to be confirmed)
  • Fall 2025: September (exact dates to be confirmed)

 

Internship Details

  • Location: Hybrid (In-person and remote in Chapel Hill, NC)
  • Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week (10 hours in-office, 5 hours remote)
  • Compensation: Up to $15.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday; weekends and evenings as needed
  • Travel: At least one trip per semester, lasting a minimum of three days (expenses covered)

  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.
    • Excel usage is required every day to track data, compile reports, and manage event logistics.
    • Strong communication skills (email, phone, and in-person).

 

Qualifications:

  • Open to all majors related to event planning or hospitality.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited higher education institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or recently graduated.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Access to a personal laptop, reliable internet, and a valid email address.
  • Reliable transportation to meet office hour requirements.
  • Professional attire and demeanor required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and source venues, destinations, activities, restaurants, and transportation.
  • Prepare client-ready presentations and space assessments.
  • Research and recommend gifts and other program-related materials.
  • Assist with event setup, execution, evaluation, and follow-up.
  • Maintain daily email communication and accurately track work hours.
  • Use Excel daily to manage event-related data and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience

At least 1 year in events management or customer service.
