Digital Learning Lab Student Researcher

The Digital Learning Lab is looking for assistance in our Converse to Learn Project, funded by the National Science Foundation. Our lab develops and tests interactive e-books and videos that we have created in collaboration with PBS KIDS and Sesame Street. The interactive videos or e-books include a “conversational agent” similar to Siri or Alexa that converses with children while they watch or read. The student researcher's primary responsibility is to conduct data collection (in-person at UCI and/or over Zoom)and assist with data entry and coding. Specifically, data collection involves administering interactive videos and assessments with children aged 4-8. Data entry and coding involves the data on children's interactions with the video or scoring the children's responses. Additionally, the student researches will also complete project management tasks like recruitment, participant management, and coordinating study visits. Our research team will provide necessary training prior to these tasks. Please note that we do work with children so the work hours will typically take place during times that families are available (e.g. after-school or on the weekends).
