Process Engineer Intern – Rumford, Maine
Compensation: $24.50-$30.50/ Hour
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At ND Paper, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for new engineers to be developed for advancement into a variety of careers relative to paper mill manufacturing operations.
Successful completion of projects related to process and product quality improvements, quality resolution of production problems, trials and reliability improvement - typical projects may include:
- Improving operational efficiencies of mill equipment and processes
- Mill trials of new equipment and chemicals
- Investigating abnormal mill operating issues
- Profit, productivity and quality improvements
- Equipment reliability and maintenance improvements
- Environmental, health and safety initiatives
- Training material and procedure development
- Process troubleshooting
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Pursuing B.S. in Chemical or Pulp & Paper Science Engineering
- Completion of sophomore level course work in Engineering or related degree program
- Basic knowledge of Windows 7 / 10, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Must show competency in PI, SAP, Excel PI add-In, Excel, Minitab

Timing / Hours:
- May 2025 – August 2025
- 40 hours per week
- Day shift with occasional overtime as business needs dictate
