LOCATION: Topeka, KS
PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

We provide a number of intern events throughout the summer to burn some extra energy, including volunteer events, power plant tours, lunch and learns, and more
Intern Description:
Successful candidate will support the corporate-level Environmental Services Department in the implementation of environmental programs company-wide. Specific programs may include Biology & Conservation, Water, Waste and Air Permitting compliance. Miscellaneous duties needed for other programs may be assigned as required.
Job tasks include but not limited to:
- Support of Endangered Species and Migratory Bird Treaty Act
- Mitigation of animal-caused outages
- Monarch CCAA monitoring
- Field Compliance Assessments
- Habitat Assessments
- Compliance Data Review and Submittal
- RCRA Waste Review and Calculations
- Renewal of Permits and Authorizations
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university or technical program in one of the following or a related technical field: Engineering, Environmental Studies, Biology, Life Science or other related field
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills.
- Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and databases preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently and effectively in high stress environment.
Working Conditions:
The work environment will be both office and occasional fieldwork. Must have excellent work record including good attendance and good safety record.
