Mental Health Support Services

Hiring Range: $79,088 - $106,768

Who We Are:
The Chester House Services Supervisor is responsible to oversee all operations of our psychosocial rehabilitation/clubhouse program, Chester House, for adults with serious mental illness. Chester House provides day programming, employment services (Individual Placement and Supports model), and transportation services for persons they serve. Minimum Education and Experience:
Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in related field (master's degree preferred); three years of increasingly responsible job-related experience to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Completion of a master's degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology, education) is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of community behavioral, prevention and/or ID programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral health disorders; of relevant mental health laws. Ability to plan and organize a behavioral health project and/or components of a program; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to the assigned program; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Data analytical and report writing skills preferred. Skills in working with individuals with diverse needs, team and consensus building and problem solving preferred. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a large complex workload preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills preferred. A professional license to practice clinical mental health services (e.g. LCSW, LPC) in the State of Virginia is preferred.
 
Additional Requirements:
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required.  Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months.  Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. 

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of professional, technical and other program staff.
• Develops and implements objectives, policies, and procedures for assigned program unit.
• Participates in budget preparation and planning and assists in administering assigned budget.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and department policies and procedures.
• Participates in the negotiation and development of service contracts and monitors service delivery.
• Prepares grant applications and program proposals and manages specially funded programs as assigned.
• Maintains a small caseload of clients and/or handles the more difficult and complex cases.
• Maintains and keep current knowledge of serious mental illness, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented practice techniques, IPS employment services, CARF, state licensure, and Medicaid requirements.
• Services Supervisor supervises program Lead Staff who also provide some support and clinical supervision to other Chester House staff.
• Performs other work as required.
