Project Job Description
Focus Area: Health Insurance
Over the past few years, there have been several significant policy changes affecting Medicare prescription drug insurance. Prior studies have also shown growing enrollment in Medicare Advantage plans. Yet little is known about how prescription drug plans have responded to these changes in policy and enrollment.
This project will involve exploration of data related to capturing changes in available Medicare Part D (prescription drug) plans over 2019-2024. Students should be interested in analyzing very large datasets and translating findings to a health policy audience.
Project deliverables could include:
- Deliverable 1: Analysis of very large datasets providing Medicare Part D (prescription drug) plan information
- Deliverable 2: Poster or oral presentation
- Deliverable 3: Draft manuscript
Preferred Intern Skills
- Experience with SAS, Stata, or other software that can handle manipulation of large datasets and summary statistics.
- Experience manipulating large datasets.
- Experience analyzing data and providing summary statistics
Majors/Minors: PharmD/MPH candidate would be ideal
Education Level: Masters/PhD level
