Social Media and Content Intern
About the Organization: Blue Trunk Foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to making it easier for everybody to travel regardless of age, disability, or health conditions. Our organization operates at the intersection of technology, tourism, and advocacy for disability rights. Blue Trunk’s core services are provided online, and consist of educational content including blogs, news articles, photos, and resource guides.
About the Position: This is a part-time (10 hours/week) paid internship for Spring 2025. The position is remote within the US. This position reports to the President and Vice President. There is the possibility to renew the position for the summer and subsequent semesters, dependent on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Create social media content for Blue Trunk's Instagram and Facebook including: research and ideation of social media campaigns; writing and editing copy; basic graphic design; publish social media posts (with special attention to hashtags and alt-text).
- Research and write blog posts, including interviews with external sources.
- Research and assist with creation of Blue Trunk resource guides.
- Monitor social media accounts and manage community engagement (direct messaging, daily engagement with other accounts).
- Assist in analytics reporting and identify new ways to increase social media following.
Qualifications:
- Experience creating branded social media content.
- Strong writing skills, experience with blog writing and editing.
- Ability to research new topics and content independently.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
