Job Description
- Administrative Support:
• Assisting in organizing files, reports, and correspondence.
• Scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars for supervisors or project leads.
• Preparing memos, spreadsheets, or presentation materials. - Research and Data Collection:
• Gathering information from databases, reports, or fieldwork.
• Conducting preliminary analysis or generating summary reports.
• Assisting in developing or maintaining datasets related to the agency’s mission - Project Assistance:
• Supporting ongoing projects by coordinating with team members.
• Drafting project documentation such as status updates or summaries.
• Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance with project timelines. - Policy and Procedure Support:
• Reviewing policies or regulations for updates or inconsistencies.
• Assisting with the drafting or editing of policy documents.
• Participating in compliance checks or audits under supervision. - Program Support:
• Helping with event planning, workshops, or outreach programs.
• Supporting training sessions by preparing materials or setting up venues.
• Assisting in the management of program-related communication. - Technical or Field Support (if applicable):
• Operating technical tools, software, or equipment specific to the role.
• Shadowing professionals in inspections, fieldwork, or technical operations.
• Learning and applying specialized procedures unique to the agency. - Professional Development:
• Attending training sessions, webinars, or briefings related to the role.
• Networking with professionals to understand career pathways.
• Participating in mentorship programs within the organization. - Reporting and Feedback:
• Preparing and submitting daily or weekly progress reports.
• Participating in regular meetings to provide updates on assigned tasks.
• Receiving and incorporating feedback from supervisors or mentors - Customer Service (Internal and External):
• Responding to inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
• Guiding stakeholders or colleagues to appropriate resources.
• Addressing issues promptly and escalating as needed.
Duties include:
1. Assists in making clerical edits of questionnaires differing with each assignment as to subject matter, form, terminology, data units, etc., requiring some subject matter knowledge in order to detect and connect inaccuracies and inconsistencies. Editing involves examining questionnaires for reasonableness and accuracy, noting and correcting improperly reported data to predetermined units, and examining for and/or connecting inconsistencies and inaccuracies. Notes and refers more complex questionable items 10 superiors for appropriate action. Summarizes recurring data problems and develops recommendations for handling such as revising specifications or procedures.
2. Assists in preparing moderately difficult worksheets for summarization of survey data. Worksheets may be summarized using a calculator or computer spreadsheets and databases.
3. Assists in preparing and maintaining computerized charts and graphs for use by statisticians or analysts in analyzing data, preparing estimates and forecasts, and/or for inclusion in report.
4. Assumes the accuracy of estimate worksheets and summary data computations submitted to the statisticians and/or analysts.
5. Assists in the telephone enumeration of sampled questionnaires to verify information received.
6. Assists in preparing questionnaires, reports, and publications under the direction of the superiors.
7. Performs other related duties to assure the smooth operation of the office as required.

Supervision:
· Interns will report to NASS Eastern Field Ops.
· Interns will receive guidance and feedback from supervisor daily, weekly, or as needed.
· Interns formal evaluation are completed at the following segments of the internship session, Mid-term and Final Performance Evaluation.
Conditions of Employment
· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident.
· Must be in good academic standing as defined by their academic institution.
