Under close supervision of the Supervising Program Technician II, the Program Technician is expected to exercise initiative and independence in assuming the responsibility for optical clerical functions.
This position may be extended up to 24 months and may become permanent at a later date.

Desirable Qualifications:
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Customer Service
- Data entry and accuracy
- Knowledge of computers and software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, databases, etc.)
- Working with incarcerated individuals
- Medi-Cal billing, eligibility, and/or experience working in an optometry office
Minimum Qualifications: One year of clerical experience.
