Media Production Assistant
The Distance and Online Education is seeking a Media Production Assistant. This position will primarily be responsible for: supporting the creation of lecture content by recording and editing video, operating studio equipment, and ensuring smooth production workflows. Responsibilities include preparing and adjusting studio setups, monitoring productions, and maintaining equipment inventory. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced tools and techniques, including Unreal Engine and DaVinci Resolve, in a professional studio environment. This position is supervised by Associate Director of Media.
Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
- Operate cameras and studio equipment to record faculty lectures
- Prepare and adjust studio lighting for optimal recording conditions
- Ensure smooth operation of studio equipment and troubleshoot technical issues during productions
- Editing video lectures
- Prepare studio setup for a variety of media productions
- Monitor studio productions
- Inventory and logging of equipment
- Other projects or tasks as assigned.
Learning Outcomes:
Students will gain hands-on experience in advanced media production techniques, including recording and editing, as well as opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology such as Unreal Engine for virtual production.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience with video editing and production
- Camera setup and operation experience

Terms of Appointment:
- Student Job Code: S725 (Design Associate)
- Hours anticipated to work per week & schedule: 15 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible.
- Hourly rate: $10 - $15/hr (based upon final candidates related experience)
