Information Technology Director
This position is exempt, full-time, benefit eligible, and serves at the pleasure and will of the City Manager. Hiring range (37): $104,303- $130,380. The long-term salary range extends to $156,456. Salary for the chosen candidate will depend on experience and education. This position is eligible for a phone allowance of $960 and a vehicle allowance of $5,400 annually, paid bi-weekly. This position is also eligible for reimbursement up to $5,000 in qualified moving expenses.

*Please note the City will hire one employee to fill either an IT Director or an IT Manager position. The City will not fill both positions.
The Director of IT reports to the City Manager and is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure and systems of the City, including overall System Administration and supervising and managing IT staff to ensure technical solutions and innovations in support of software and hardware, operating systems, advanced PC applications, and Internet and website services City-wide improve operational efficiency and comply with IT regulations and industry standards. Ensures the current information technology needs of the City are met and develops and implements a plan for future needs. Responsible for maintaining and utilizing detailed knowledge of local and wide area network hardware and software, network technology including server and workstation configuration, operating system installation, and system maintenance City-wide.

The City’s next IT Director will be an experienced and knowledgeable IT professional with strong communication and collaboration skills, willing to take a hands-on approach to assisting and leading the department. The candidate will have demonstrated success in project management and is capable of developing, maintaining, and promoting a vision for future City-wide IT needs.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related fields, five years’ experience managing an IT department, and five years of tech support services experience in network management, cloud solutions, IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, backup, and cybersecurity protocols desired, or any combination of education, experience and training that sufficiently demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. May be required to work other than normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to obtain DPS Level D Terminal Operator Certification, and pass a background, polygraph, and fingerprint check.
