Fundraising Manager
Salary range: $60k-$75k – Full-time

The Fundraising Manager plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, overseeing fundraising events, managing the individual donor program, and building sustainable funding streams. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and overseeing volunteer engagement to ensure the continued success and growth of MJE’s programs. This is an in-person role requiring regular travel within the assigned region, with occasional evening and weekend work for events and donor meetings.
Performance-Based Bonus:
This position includes a bonus structure based on meeting and exceeding annual fundraising goals.
Performance metrics will be outlined and reviewed regularly with the CEO.

What You Will Do
Revenue Generation and Donor Program Management
Develop and execute fundraising strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets set by the CEO and Development Team.
Manage and grow MJE’s Individual Donor Program, including annual giving, major donor cultivation, and donor stewardship initiatives.
Plan, manage, and execute signature fundraising events, including Black History Breakfast, Mother’s Day Luncheon, MAV National Conference, MJE Holiday Celebration, and other fundraising initiatives.
Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic partners.
Secure monetary sponsorships and increase sponsorship contributions annually.
Develop and implement strategies to increase donor retention and acquire new donors.
Monitor and report on donor engagement metrics and revenue outcomes.
Event Management and Execution
Plan and oversee logistics for all fundraising events to ensure seamless execution.
Work closely with vendors, venues, and municipalities to manage event-related logistics.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteer committees and day-of-event volunteers.
Develop event budgets and ensure expenses remain within allocated budgets.
Monitor event performance, evaluate outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
Communicate fundraising impact and success stories to stakeholders, donors, and community members.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management
Build and lead event committees to support fundraising goals.
Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers to actively participate in fundraising initiatives.
Foster strong relationships with key volunteers and stakeholders to drive event success.
Develop volunteer recognition programs to enhance engagement and retention.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
Implement personalized stewardship plans for major donors and event sponsors.
Organize donor appreciation initiatives, events, and touchpoints to build long-term relationships.
Develop and manage fundraising communication materials, including appeals, thank-you letters, and impact reports.
Represent MJE at events and in donor-facing meetings.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Ensure all fundraising initiatives and events are inclusive, equitable, and accessible to diverse communities.
Proactively build relationships with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Administrative and Reporting
Track and analyze donor data, event performance, and fundraising outcomes using CRM systems (Salesforce, Donor Drive, Virtuous).
Prepare fundraising performance reports for leadership and stakeholders.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovative fundraising strategies.
Collaborate with the Development Team on corporate and foundation giving strategies.
Social Media and Marketing
Collaborate with the Marketing Communications Manager to develop and execute digital marketing strategies, create engaging content, and ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
Monitor social media analytics and leverage email and social media ads to optimize reach, boost event attendance, and increase donations.
Candidate Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with a proven track record of revenue growth.
Experience managing an Individual Donor Program and growing major gifts.
Demonstrated success in planning and executing large-scale fundraising events.
Proven track record securing monetary sponsorships and managing corporate partnerships.
Experience with volunteer recruitment, training, and management.
Background in marketing communications and social media management
Skills
Strong donor cultivation and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, Donor Drive, Virtuous) and fundraising software.
Strong project management and event planning skills.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other business tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Comfort with public speaking in front of both small and large audiences.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
Regular travel within assigned service area.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds for event setup and breakdown.
