Accounting Intern

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position will be responsible for the production of financial statements and providing reliable financial data necessary for operational decisions. This position offers a flexible schedule of 10-20 hours per week. Additional hours are available if desired but not required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor of cash flow weekly.
  • Prepare and post accurate accrual entries, including payroll, insurance, and other key expense categories.
  • Record and manage journal entries within ERP systems to maintain up-to-date and reliable financial records.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Preference given to candidates at the Junior level or higher.
  • Must have a positive attitude and cooperate well. 
  • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information.
  • Must be responsible and reliable.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and planning.
  • Effective time management.
  • Requires a strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties.
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Strong math skills and confidence when working with numbers.
  • Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs.
  • Prior experience with Viewpoint Construction Software (Vista) or QuickBooks is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to St. Louis, MO, is required.
