Huntsman Student Leadership Positions

Requirements:

  • Huntsman School of Business Major
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Logan Main Campus Student

Description: Complete one application process (handshake AND external application required) to apply for multiple student leadership positions in the Huntsman School. Organizations include Business Ambassadors, Business Council, FJ Management Center Mentor, Freshman Academy (FA) Mentor and Huntsman Scholar Program Leadership; overviews of employee’s roles for each organization are below.

  • Business Ambassadors: are student representatives of the Huntsman School of Business, who work closely with the Huntsman Recruiting Team to recruit high school students to apply to USU and pursue Huntsman Business degree. Ambassadors will conduct tours, host students for events, travel to high schools to recruit students, and other related recruiting activities.

Those interested in applying for Business Ambassadors will need to prepare a short video (5-minutes or less), introduce yourself, tell us why you want to be a Business Ambassador and creatively pitch the Huntsman School as if you are speaking to high school students who are about to select a college.

  • Business Council: serve Huntsman School of Business students by representing the student's voice, promoting student involvement, facilitating professional opportunities, and developing student leaders. As a member of the council, you will work for the Huntsman School of Business and can make a lasting impact by assisting the Business Senator fulfill their platform and by helping the Dean’s Office through various projects. Council members will be assigned to a committee, attend weekly meetings, plan events, create proposals for funding, and be model business students.   
  • FJ Management Center Mentor:  Highly motivated and friendly students will assist in our main office as well as the START (student tips, answers, resources, & training) Desk on the 2nd floor between EBB and Huntsman Hall. Students will be expected to assist with quick questions, document reviews, general advising, and other tasks as assigned while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Freshmen Academy (FA) Mentor: serve as mentors for the Freshmen Academy course. Freshmen Academy is an innovative and engaging 1-credit hours course for all new students to the Huntsman School. FA Mentors will be leading a group of about 10 students enrolled in Freshmen Academy.  Mentors lead discussions, activities, etc. during each week’s class and grading assignments outside of class time.  Classes are held Fridays between 8:30- 11:30. 
  • Huntsman Scholar Leadership:  A Scholar Peer Mentor is crucial in creating a

supportive and inclusive environment for the Scholar Program. Their responsibilities primarily focus on providing peer-to-peer (1:1) mentoring, fostering a sense of community, and being a valuable resource. 

Availability: Available to work Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.  Most organizations will have some summer training requirement(s).

Pay Rate and Hours: Will vary based on organization.
