Director of Finance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in an educational or governmental setting.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems, budget management, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- CPA certification (preferred but not required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial operations of the district, including budgeting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Develop and monitor budgets aligned with district priorities and goals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide regular financial reports and recommendations to district leadership and the board.
- Collaborate with departments to maximize fiscal efficiency and transparency.
- Oversee the annual financial audit.
- Oversee the coordination and negotiation of employee benefits and property and liability insurance for the system.
- Assists the superintendent with all tax and bond referendums and legal issues related to financial and business matters.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, per the DeSoto Parish School Board salary schedule.
