POSITION SNAPSHOT
MVTA is looking for an ambitious and driven student to join our transportation team. The fleet internship is designed to introduce students to career opportunities in the field of transportation and highlight the integral role public transportation plays in our communities, all while providing support to MVTA staff. The Fleet Intern will assist in a variety of transit operation initiatives, including but not limited to fleet projects.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Assist with set-up and analysis of battery-electric vehicles
- Conduct vehicle inspections and unit condition reports
- Update fleet files in maintenance software system and other related fleet data entry
- Remove components from retired vehicles
- Assist with updating written policies and procedures
- Complete a variety of reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
CORE COMPETENCIES & CREDENTIALS
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s License
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
• Mechanical interested preferred, but not required

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to observe and analyze details at close range and communicate to exchange accurate information with others.
MVTA core hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm. Interns will work with the Supervisor to determine a schedule.
