ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - Ocean Simulation Lab
Who We Are:
The Ocean Simulation Labs focuses primarily on verification and qualification testing of subsea components or structures used for Oil & Gas, Naval, research or recreational purposes.
Objectives of this Role:
- Perform test setup, execution, and reporting support to ensure safe and intended operation of subsea equipment.
- Provide detailed design of test hardware, generate drawings, and oversee fabrication.
- Interact with customers to interpret work scopes, define deliverables, and offer solutions to best achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide support to project managers for tests requiring elevated pressures, low/high temperatures, and various test media.
- Conduct engineering assessments upon potential failure of components or items and offer value-added services to address.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Generate project reports, test procedures, rough estimates, and formal proposals to coworkers and clients.
- Interface with customers and team members to ensure timely completion of short and long-term tasks.
- Research applicable codes, standards, or customer specifications to ensure test parameters are being met.
- Identify vendors and source components/materials required for project performance that may include tools, instrumentation, and other consumables.
- Monitor and manage costs of small scale projects and/or subtasks of larger programs.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or directly related engineering degree with related experience.
- 0-5 years: Pressure generating equipment, mechanical design, instrumentation used for lab experiments (pressure, temperature, displacement, strain), basic controls and/or data acquisition equipment (LabVIEW preferred). Some coding/programming experience is a plus.
- Experience with Solidworks and/or PTC products is preferred.
- Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills with some experience in technical presentations.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
