Summary
As a Speech Language Pathologist at Life Care Centers of America, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to our patients. This position is essential in helping individuals improve their communication skills and overall quality of life within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing function.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
Educate patients and their families about speech therapy techniques and strategies.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress notes.
Participate in facility meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to speech-language pathology.
Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
Ability to assess patient needs effectively and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
Familiarity with pediatric speech therapy practices is a plus but not required.
