Media and the Sports Industry Intern
Position Responsibilities
As an intern in the fields of Media and the Sports Industry, your responsibilities may include:
- Introduction to relevant software and tools used in sports assistance.
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of sports events, including logistics, scheduling, and communication with stakeholders.
- Shadowing event managers to understand event execution and problem-solving strategies.
- Participating in on-site event management tasks such as setup, registration, and participant assistance.
- Assisting in administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management.
- Learning about budgeting processes and assisting in budget tracking for sports events or programs.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Learning about sports marketing strategies and techniques.
- Assisting in the creation of promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and social media content.
- Participating in brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns to attract participants or spectators to sports events.
- Presenting the project findings or progress to the sports assistance team.
- Reflecting on the internship experience, identifying key learnings, and discussing future career goals with mentors.

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
Housing and Excursions
Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
