The Opportunity:
As a Sales Coordinator – Drayage, you will play a crucial role as the linchpin in our customers' import and export supply chains. Our Drayage sales team specializes in facilitating the inland movement of shipping containers to and from ports or rail ramps across the United States and Canada. This position will involve collaborating with our primary drayage carriers nationwide to devise creative solutions for the efficient transportation of containers. You will also enhance our customers' supply chain visibility by utilizing Steam's cutting-edge technology tools to deliver complete visibility at terminals and rails.
Primary Responsibilities-
- Manage the entire sales cycle of a load (procuring business, onboarding customer, negotiating rates, track-and-trace, updating financials)
- Consistently generate sales leads lists using Panjiva, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, and other resources
- Prospect potential customers through cold-calling and email outreach
- Create pricing for Drayage lanes (EX: Savannah to Atlanta) and coordinate capacity with trucking companies through carrier relationships
- Build shipments in our TMS and schedule container pick-up and delivery appointments
- Manage the financials of your book of business
- Collaborate with all Steam departments
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience-
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, and drayage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building long-term relationships with customers.
