Part-Time Administrative Student Intern
Johnson Service Group is looking for a part-time student intern for one of our Clients in San Jose. This role provides essential administrative and operational support for public outreach activities, including managing tours, presentations, and events to engage the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting tours of the Center
- Provide administrative and operational assistance with public tours, presentations, and tabling events.
- Prepare, compile, proofread, organize, and maintain tour program materials.
- Support the creation of social media posts, website updates, informational materials, and newsletters, including compiling content from multiple sources, confirming technical information, coordinating with graphic designers and translation services, and routing for approval.
- Support outreach to community groups, schools, and other organizations in Santa Clara, including planning and implementing programs and special events, presenting information, and frequently interacting with the public.
- Provide administrative support for new projects and initiatives, including expanding the demonstration facility and learning center and developing a mobile tour unit.
- Compile and proofread content from multiple sources for monthly reports and route for approval.
- Maintain various files and records; run and organize reports from databases, including spreadsheets.
- Order, receive, and organize program materials and office supplies.
- Develop and update social media posts, flyers, and other outreach materials.
- Support teams with planning and implementing programs and special events, including interacting with the public and community stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interest in community engagement and public service.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Interest in and ability to learn about water treatment and advanced water purification.
- Strong presentation abilities, including skills related to engaging diverse audiences, and ability to learn existing presentations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Can work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace and comfortable learning new software.
- Ability to learn existing presentations and explain the basics of the purification center public tour
- Enrolled in at least 9 units per semester or quarter equivalent in an accredited community college or college/university program or have graduated within the past 6 months. Proof of enrollment will be required prior to start of assignment.
- Can work at least 3 days per week during office hours and occasional weekends, averaging 15-20 hours per week depending on availability or need.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
