Accounting Intern
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Accounting Intern (Intern) will support the Accounting Operations, Accounting Policy, Financial Reporting, and Financial Systems teams. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the Intern will apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom to a professional work environment, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare him or her for a successful career in Accounting.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Accounting Operations, Accounting Policy, Financial Reporting, and Financial Systems Groups within the Accounting Department.
- Accounting Operations processes including accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, and variance analysis, as well as process evaluation and documentation;
- Accounting Policy initiatives including supporting Data Instruction Manual maintenance and updates;
- Financial Reporting activities including production of the second quarter Combined Financial Report, creation of a data repository of historical financial data, and execution of a research project;
- Financial Systems automation projects including documentation, data transition, and testing.
- Manage project tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
- Attend Intern Meetings and complete tasks provided by Human Resources.

- Other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or advanced degree program in Accounting or related field, with an interest and aptitude to work in Accounting or Financial Systems
- Attention to detail, organized, self-motivated, and possess a high degree of discretion
- Ability to initiate and complete assignments accurately and on time, with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently
- Strong Excel skills; knowledge of advanced formula writing preferred
- Ability to review and analyze the performance of key procedures and to make recommendations for improvements
- Ability to listen and integrate ideas from diverse views, build and maintain respectful relationships, collaborate with others, and resolve conflicts constructively
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
