Financial Analyst

CNA

PRIMARY PURPOSE

CNA is hiring for the role of Financial Analyst. This role sits in the Chief Financial Office (CFO) in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The FP&A team is responsible for planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical activities that supports CNA’s major business decisions and overall financial health. The Financial Analyst will perform financial and accounting data and systems analysis, and assist with development of comprehensive reports, recommendations, and presentations.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND / OR DUTIES

  1. Analyzes and validates accounting and financial data, provide periodic financial reports, and targeted management briefs.
  2. Assists in development of the corporate budget and / or other activities with broad impact, high visibility or that are related to sensitive issues.
  3. Assists with analysis of methods and in the development of recommendations for increasing visibility and effective use of cost, pricing structure and key metrics.
  4. Works with team or manager to identify financial systems output requirements.
  5. Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 6 years progressive experience with accounting or financial systems.
  3. Skills:
    • Knowledge of federal contracting and government accounting, including working knowledge of indirect cost rate structures and budgeting.
    • Experience with corporate financial systems, Microsoft PowerPoint, and advanced level knowledge of Excel.
    • Requires strong oral and written communications skills.
    • Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint and Cognos is a plus.
  4. Hybrid Work Eligibility: This position is eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements at the discretion of the Supervisor. Employees may be required to work at CNA headquarters or other work locations resulting in changes to the scheduled telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements. 
  5. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance.
