We are searching for individuals interested in working outdoors in our beautiful parks. Will consider individuals that wish to work anywhere from 24 hours/week to 40 hours/week. 

Our mission is to protect and conserve the natural and historical features of Delaware County and inspire outdoor exploration and learning. This position will assist our park operation staff in a variety of projects to help meet our mission.

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn the internal workings of opening, maintaining, and running a park.
  • Perform landscaping maintenance including mowing, trimming, mulching, etc.
  • Assist Education department with maintaining the native gardens and entrance beds
  • Help maintain clean and safe parks through the upkeep and cleaning of facilities, restrooms, and shelters. Pick up litter and empty receptacles.
  • Perform basic trail maintenance including clearing paths, trimming, and pruning.
  • Work on maintenance and construction projects.
  • Work with other departments and participate in special events.
  • Work on Natural Resources projects.
  • Work with the Sustainability Team to help reduce the environmental impact of the park district

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Valid driver's license and evidence of satisfactory driving record for insurability.
  • Ability to operate hand, power tools, vehicles, tractors, and mowing equipment.
