Intern, Audience Insights

Position Information:

  • Start Date: June 9 – August 29, 2025
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (9:00 – 5:00pm central)
  • Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid)
  • Compensation: $20.00/hour

Intern, Audience Insights:

Join us as the Audience Insight Intern and gain hands-on experience in supporting our strategic goals by conducting research and surveys, helping us better understand and align the needs of our audience with new opportunities and our capabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and develop your skills in a dynamic, growth-focused environment. You will be supporting the Audience Insights and Analytics department by contributing to reporting, analysis, and crafting actionable recommendations across brands including MPR News, YourClassical, The Current, Marketplace, and APM Studios and for regional and national membership.

 

Key Learning Goals:

Through immersive learning and real-world projects, our goal is for you to gain hands-on experience in survey and research as well as analysis and stakeholder delivery / interaction. You will gain experience in translating business needs and goals into end-to-end research, contributing to the whole project timeline from design to delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

In this hands-on role, you will gain experience in

  • Quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Data analysis/interpretation of large amounts of data from disparate sources including primary and syndicated sources
  • Project design (ex. developing strategic briefs, survey design, general project administration, etc.)
  • Insights and analytics platforms including Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, dscout, Power BI, and GWI

Programming:

  • Participate in a robust on-boarding experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Students who are currently enrolled and have completed one year of a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program, are enrolled in a graduate program, or have earned a degree in the last 12 months
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm) for the duration of this internship
  • Must be able work in the office (St. Paul, MN) at least 2 days per week
  • Familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Familiar with data analysis and the ability to interpret large data sets
  • Interested in gaining confidence in communicating with and delivering results to various stakeholders and internal teams
  • Interested in learning and growing as a vested researcher in the media industry

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with survey tools such as Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Verint, Opinion Lab or Other
  • Experience with syndicated research sources
