Job Overview

The Traveling Estate Associate (TEA) is an entry-level operations role designed to introduce team members to the estate buying industry. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about travel, eager to learn new skills, and seeking a rewarding career path. TEAs will gain hands-on experience through our Estate Specialist Training Program, with the potential for advancement into higher roles based on performance, preference, and skill development.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travel extensively (25+ weeks/year) to assist with estate buying events across the country.
  • Shadow and support Traveling Estate Specialists and Team Leads to ensure events are executed to the highest quality.
  • Manage event lines, greeting customers and qualifying sellable items with confidence and professionalism.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees and sponsors, creating a welcoming and positive environment.
  • Assist in eCommerce, photography, and marketing/operations tasks during non-travel weeks, gaining exposure to other facets of the business.
  • Observe and develop skills required for advancement to the Traveling Estate Specialist I role.

Career Path

Traveling Estate Associates enter a paid 5-week New Hire Training Program. At the conclusion of the training, their skills, performance, and interests are evaluated for placement:

  • Traveling Estate Associates Role: Continuing in an operations-focused role supporting the estate buying events. Opportunities for advancement into management or Traveling Estate Specialist I Role.
  • Traveling Estate Specialist I Role: Transition into a role focused on buying expertise and customer interaction with clear metrics for promotion to Estate Specialist II.

Training includes hands-on experience at estate buying events, shadowing seasoned team members, and learning the foundational skills needed for long-term career growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for travel and availability to travel 25+ weeks/year, including occasional weekends.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to interact with customers and event sponsors.
  • Visual acuity to assist with identifying fine details and hallmarks on items.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 40-50 pounds regularly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service or sales experience, and/or a college degree
  • Interest in or appreciation for fine jewelry, collectables, or antiques.

Compensation

Starting base salary of $48,000 based on experience and education, plus up to a 20% annual bonus.
