
Farm Equipment Operator - Mechanic
Welcome to Krenzer Farms! We are hiring a Farm Equipment Operator – Mechanic to join our team in Scottsville, NY (about 12 miles southwest of Rochester). In this role you will be a key player in keeping our farm running efficiently, solving problems, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent working condition.
We are a diverse agricultural operation with 3,000 acres of grain production and a municipal snowplowing division, we are dedicated to fostering growth and providing high-quality services. We offer competitive hourly compensation of $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience, health insurance, paid vacation, and retirement plan.
What you will be doing:
- Repairing, maintaining, and operating a variety of agricultural equipment used for planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops.
- Operating and maintaining snowplowing equipment.
- Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues to improve farm operations and ensure equipment is performing at its best.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to ensure optimal productivity and safety on the farm.
This job is for you if you have:
- Clean Driver’s License required; CDL A preferred but not required.
- Two-year college degree or equivalent coursework in Mechanical or Agricultural fields.
- Strong mechanical skills to repair and maintain farm and snowplowing equipment, including basic welding skills.
- Ability to operate all types of manual clutch machinery.
- Proficiency in arithmetic, including working with fractions.
- Comfortable using basic computer applications for record-keeping and communication.
- Ability to proactively plan and manage tasks, particularly in preparation for each season.
- Strong critical thinking skills, applying them to problem-solving and improving farm operations.
- A desire to learn, grow, and expand skill sets in the agriculture and equipment maintenance fields.
- A dependable, proactive individual who enjoys working independently and as part of a team.
