Residential Instructor/Camp Counselor
Working as a Residential Instructor/Camp Counselor at Oakland School in Troy, Virginia, you will have an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young, developing students with and without Learning Differences (Dyslexia, ADHD, Visual/Auditory, Processing Disorders, and a variety of other Differences)
After one week of extensive training, you will work alongside fellow staff within a structured overnight boarding program (Dorm Setting) working 4 days a week for the 5 week Summer Program.
Residential Instructors/Camp Counselors must working with school aged children. RI/Counselor responsibilities include ensuring the safety and supervision of children between the ages of 6 to 16 while also ensuring the structure of the program and providing mindful guidance. Lead recreational classes (Swimming, Archery, Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Arts and Crafts, Science and Nature). Assist in large recreational group activities (Camping, Bonfires, Water Field Day, and more) and lead clubs (Sports, Cooking, Fishing, etc).
Preferred applicants: At least one year of college, or post high school work, including experience supervising children. Display qualities in patience, reasoning, communication, and teamwork. Additional Information: The salary listed below is for the one week of in-service training and five-week camp session June 16-July 25, 2025.
Job Types: Day (830AM-4:30PM, M-F) and Overnight (4 days per week)
Pay: $3,200 - 4,000 for six week program
