Product Documentation Intern Fall 2025

Position:                           Product Documentation Intern/Junior Technical Writer  

Employment Type:    Internship 

Work Schedule:          12-25 hours a week, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. (Dependent on school schedule) 

Employment Class:   Non-Exempt 

Supervisor:                      Product Documentation Manager 

 

Job Summary: 

This position will primarily assist the product documentation team in creating and updating all documentation, user manuals, and how-to guides.  You will collaborate with the team to learn about technical documentation and concepts and figure out how to simplify technical information into easy-to-understand text, graphics, and images that will be utilized by dealers and end customers.  This process will require a high level of organization and communication within the organization to meet this objective.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn SurePoint Ag products from a technical perspective and portray that knowledge into professional technical publications.  SurePoint Ag Systems is known for manuals that are user friendly and contain pertinent information for the product line.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn about technical documentation and concepts adopted by SurePoint Ag 
  • Collaborate with development team and other departments to simplify technical information for end-users. 
  • Edit and proofread all technical documents prior to submitting for review. 
  • Assist in creating high-quality documentation, guides, manuals, and tutorials. 
  • Review and update documentation when required. 
  • Follow guidelines to efficiently create and organize operators and support documents. 
  • Learn and become proficient on internal software systems (MS Suite, Content Management Software, graphic editor, XML editor, and other desktop publishing tools)

  • Exceptional communication with co-workers and customers via phone, e-mail, interpersonal dialog, and Microsoft Office tools. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing and fact checking.  The ability to distill complex subject matter in clear and concise written messaging.  
  • Ability and desire to learn SurePoint Ag Systems’ software and system processes.   
  • Ability and desire to learn SurePoint Ag Systems’ products and services.  
  • Ability and desire to gain knowledge through experiential learning.  
  • Problem-solver

  • Sharp proofreading skills and acute attention to detail. 
  • Embrace a dynamic and constantly changing workplace.  

What makes you stand out: 

  • Familiarity with currently used technical language, concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Experience with 3D modeling software.  
  • Curiosity to learn.  
  • Pursuing a degree in Ag Communications, Agribusiness, Ag Tech Management, Engineering, Communication, Media, Marketing, or a related field 
  • Prior industry experience preferred.

Location: 

This position will be located at the SurePoint Innovation Center Office in Manhattan, KS.
