Location: Hybrid (2 days/week in our Brooklyn office + some remote hours)
Hours: 5-10 hrs/week
Pay: $16/hr and/or school credit
Duration: February – June, 2025

Communications Committee
As the communications Intern, you will become an active member of the Open Source & KoKo NYC administrative team. You will join discussions about various marketing initiatives and communications with our community and volunteers. This is a great opportunity to apply your interest in arts management, communications, event promotion, and public relations, and grow your skills in marketing analytics, project management, and marketing strategy.

Your responsibilities may include:
Social media management, posting, & comment moderation
Assist with event calendar planning
Drafting weekly newsletters to Open Source and KoKo communities
Drafting press releases oriented for youth
Communicating with our volunteer base about opportunities
Copywriting, proofing copy, and reviewing imagery
Running marketing reports and analyzing results
Assisting with the development and execution of marketing strategy

Attributes that will help you in this role:
General understanding of marketing and social media marketing
Experience working in WordPress and the Google Suite
Familiarity with email marketing – a plus
Ability to multitask, switch priorities, and be flexible
Desire to collaborate with colleagues
Excellent communication skills—verbal and written
Passion and eye for well designed websites
Passion for art and youth education!
Flexible, open-minded and detail-oriented
Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
