Litigation Support Intern
JOB SUMMARY
Assist in projects at the intersection of law and environmental science including but not limited to supporting law firms by conducting research, assisting with preparing technical reports, and aiding in the resolution of complex legal disputes, all under the guidance of experienced technical managers and senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct research and analysis of environmental issues related to ongoing legal cases.
- Assist in evaluating scientific data, environmental reports, and expert testimonies to support well-founded opinions and conclusions.
- Train on environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist in working with legal teams to develop written arguments and strategies for environmental cases.
- Assist in the review, analysis, and effective responses to reports and testimonies provided by opposing expert witnesses to identify weaknesses and inconsistencies in their arguments.
- Assist with assessing and clearing conflicts of interest as necessary to provide expert services and/or litigation support.
- Maintain administrative files

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: working towards a bachelor’s degree in history, English, law, geology, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or science-based field
Skills: Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must
