The Opportunity: Paid Internship – Staff Writer

Are you a budding journalist eager to grow your skills and gain real-world experience? Peake Media is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Staff Writer Intern to join our team. This paid internship is perfect for students or recent graduates with a passion for storytelling and an interest in producing content that makes a difference.

What You’ll Do:

• Content Creation: Write engaging articles and produce videos for our print publications, websites and social media channels.
• Editorial Support: Assist assistant and lead editors with managing content pipelines, including contributing to e-blasts and e-newsletter content.
• Digital Management: Help manage social media accounts by creating and scheduling posts that resonate with our audience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with editors and the creative team to brainstorm and develop content ideas that align with our mission and goals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Educational Background: Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with an eye for detail and familiarity with AP Style.
• Team Player: A positive, collaborative individual who thrives in a supportive team environment.
• Self-Starter: Someone who is proactive, organized, and thrives under deadlines.
• Fun-Loving: We believe work should be enjoyable — our team values laughter and camaraderie.
• Bonus Skills: Experience with journalistic writing, content creation, social media management, or an interest in health/fitness is a plus.
